Zephyr cigarettes are produced in USA and Japan, long (100 mm) and short (70 mm), 20 cigarettes in a pack, hard and soft pack.
A zephyr is no chubasco, but still, it's a breath of fresh air. The Axton-Fisher Tobacco Company named their new Zephyr Cigarettes after that gentle cooling breeze that blows in from the West. The first Zephyr design pictured a sea gull that seems to be enjoying balmy weather. When the brand was king sized, these graphics were changed and the new pack had a snappy art deco look. Featuring a pilot's wings plus a set of chevrons, modern king size Zephyr mimicked the progress being made in train and plane design. Patterns of chevrons and stripes were to become the standard illustrations for cigarette packs during the Filtered Fifties. However, for at least one cigarette pack collector, the filter tip brands that were to follow don't seem to pack the punch of a Zephyr.
