The Tchamkerten family, along with the Missirian, Matossian, Enfiadjian, and Mirzabekiantz families of tobacconists, were originally from Turkey and Russia. Araks cigarettes, plus the handsome tin that they were sold in, were made in Antwerp by Tchamkerten &amp; Company circa 1915. Tchamkerten claimed to be &quot;Grande Manufacture de Cigarettes Egyptiennes&quot; with branch factories in Alexandrie, Egypt; Geneve, Suisse; and Stockholm, Sweden.
